More and more countries from China to buy high-speed rail technology or expressed interest in buying, but Vietnam is a notable exception, it still insists on the implementation of more expensive high-speed rail plans in Japan.

2010 held in Hong Kong high-speed rail conference in Asia, the Vietnamese Ministry of Railways Ruanmeng Xuan (sound) said that Vietnam is using Japan's Shinkansen technology for a cost of 55 billion U.S. dollars (1 U.S. dollar equals 6.8 yuan to the Habitat currency - the Report Note) High Speed Rail project.

He said the proposed construction of 1570 kilometers of high-speed railway will connect Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, a project will be completed in 2020. Across the board is expected to be completed by 2025.

In contrast, estimated total length of 1,318 km Beijing-Shanghai high-speed rail is expected to cost 221 billion yuan, the first completed in 2012, before the 2008 start date is only 4 years. This shows that compared with the Japanese technology, China's high-speed rail technology greatly reduces the cost, time greatly reduced.

Nevertheless, Vietnam still insist on using the Japanese Shinkansen technology. Ruanmeng Xuan said: "We have studied the high-speed railway in China. It is not advanced." He said, the Japanese high-speed rail technology is an advantage is that it runs for 40 years without an accident.

Independent assessment of transportation projects, general manager of the transport sector institutions Lloyd David Hill said: "China's high-speed rail is relatively immature. Historical data is not yet proved that China's technology level is good enough."

June 19 this year, the Vietnamese Parliament rejected a high-speed rail plan, but said Nguyen Xuan Yu, this does not mean the plan ran aground, but the Vietnamese railway sector to provide more data and better financing plan.

According to "Asia Week" reported that some Vietnamese politicians opposed to the adoption of high-speed rail technology in China because of concerns that China may use high-speed rail transport troops and invade Vietnam. Ruan Mengxuan response from Hanoi to Kunming railway has linked the two countries. Since 2004, China's investment in upgrading the railway between Hanoi and Kunming conditions, the long-term aim is to build from Kunming to Singapore's trans-Asian railway network.

In contrast with Vietnam, Australia very much welcomes China to participate in its high-speed rail construction. During the Australian Government is conducting a feasibility study for 12 months, plans to build a connection in the eastern coastal areas of Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Canberra's high-speed railway.
